The Anti-Space

I propose the concept of anti-space: a deliberately resistant spatial gesture created alongside the commissioned design. The anti-space functions as a counter-site – exposing exclusions, inviting a neglected public, and critiquing the assumptions embedded in ‘official’ architecture. It is to be treated as integral to the scheme and philosophy of public practice, not merely an afterthought to meet regulatory standards.
